Help people with disabilities

Show someone you care!

5 things you can do

1. Participate in a read-a-thon or walk-a-thon to raise money for services to people with disabilities.

2. Ask your family if they are interested in raising a guide dog puppy! (if that's not possible, sponsor a guide dog puppy)

3. Ask a friend in a wheelchair how you can assist them at school (it may be as simple as helping during lunch time).

4. Start a Disabilities Awareness Week at school; invite guest speakers, show films, have discussions.

5. Be a buddy to someone with a disability - ask a parent to help you take your buddy to run errands after school.

Share your experience

YVolunteer wants to encourage lots of young people to volunteer and help their community. If you are already doing something, tell us about it! We will post your story so that other young people can read it and get inspired.
