Help the world

One person can change the world - it could be you!

5 things you can do

1. Organise the 40 Hour famine at your school, participate in the Walk Against Want, or run your own event to raise awareness of, and money for, world poverty and hunger.

2. Write letters in defence of human rights. Amnesty International is a good place to start.

3. When you find out about a disaster in another country, get a group of friends together to raise money for the cause.

4. Ask your teacher to help find a "pen pal" school in a third world country - there may be ways you can support your new friends, such as collecting books or school supplies to send to them.

5. Think globally! Find out about hunger, poverty and human rights issues around the world - and launch and awareness campaign at school.

Share your experience

YVolunteer wants to encourage lots of young people to volunteer and help their community. If you are already doing something, tell us about it! We will post your story so that other young people can read it and get inspired.
